Artbots

the Robot Talent Show 'ArtBots' is een internationaal reizende tentoonstellingsformule rond opvallende robotische creaties en ‘kunstproducerende’ robots. Bij elke editie wordt er een open call voor inzendingen gelanceerd om designers van over de hele wereld uit te nodigen hun werk voor te stellen.

“Computer Aided Manufacturing” , the use of computers to manufacture the designs.

CNC :

“Computer Numerical Control” , The electronic image of products designed in CAD programs are translated into a numerical control programming language, which generates the instructions for the machine that makes it.

DIY :

“Do It Yourself” , things you can make by yourself.

Dorkbot :

“People doing strange things with electricity”, a place where makers explain the technical aspects of their creations or research to a group of interested people.

FabLab :

Fabrication laboratory, a small-scale workshop with an array of flexible computer controlled tools that cover several different length scales and various materials, with the aim to make "almost anything".

Makerbot :

Open-source DIY 3D-printer , a desktop 3D printer you can make yourself.

RepRap :

RepRapis a free desktop 3D printer capable of printing plastic objects. Since many parts of RepRap are made from plastic and RepRap can print those parts, RepRap is a self-replicating machine - one that anyone can build given time and materials.

 timelab Collection

timelab is creating its own, unique collection. These works are made by artists which come or have came across timelab. Via the residence programme or via Summercamp Electrified. Every items is purchased for an equal fee, size doesn't matter. Next to that, most residents also chose to donate a piece of art to timelab. Making part of a collection is important for young artists. timelab collection is an initiative to support their carreers.
