The timelab Café is new this year. During the daytime the artists will work in the fabLab and in the city. In the evenings we will come together at the timelab Café where anyone wishing to meet the artists is welcome to join us. There will also be informal presentations by artists drawn to the theme of ‘artists reclaiming public space’. For example, three artists who took part in the Summer Camp last year and who live in Ghent will present their projects. They are Marie-Laure Delaby and Juan Duque, and Maria Lucia Cruz Correia.
Timelab Café open daily from 6 till 11pm

Theme and participants:
Next week we will be welcoming to Ghent 13 artists from home and abroad for the third edition of Summer Camp Electrified. With the emergence of the generic city, the streets are increasingly coming under fire from marketing and tourism. Artists can play an active role in helping reclaim the public space or parts of it. This is the idea behind Summer Camp Electrified 2011.
The participating artists come from different parts of the world and from different artistic backgrounds. We will spend ten days working closely with them in a bid to stimulate a lively exchange and develop ideas and proposals. At the end of the ten days there will be a public presentation and a party to round off the project.
The following artists are taking part in Summer Camp Electrified 2011: Line Boogaerts, Javier Busturia, Jon Cohrs, Silas Fong, Roberta Gigante, Wouter Huis, Kathy Hinde, Myriel Milicevic, Vahida Ramujkic, Laïa Sadurni, Karel Verhoeven, Stephen Verstraete, Els Viaene and Laia Sadurni.
Location: Brusselsepoortstraat 97, 9000 Gent
Summer Camp Electrified is a joint timelab and Vooruit/Transdigital project.
